The Titaness Hecate is known as the OG patron of witches. The ancient Greek Hecate is known as as triple goddess, goddess of crossroads, doorways and creatures of the night. Hecate was also known to be a dog mom: she is often depicted with one of her many hounds (aka her familiars.) She is also associated with the three-headed dog of the Underworld, Cereberus. 
 
The goddess can be found in liminal spaces, or the in-between places, such as a threshold or an intersection (perhaps figuratively and literally.)
